Can't login to new site

I can’t login to configure GlobaLeaks site: the page http://localhost/#!/admin immediately redirect to localhost/#/ with the (default) whistleblowing questionnaire.
I’m using firefox 67.0 (64-bit) or chrome 75.0.3770.80 (64-bit).
I installed GlobaLeaks on a virtual machine (Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS on Windows 2012R2 host) satisfying the requirements at https://docs.globaleaks.org/en/latest/gettingstarted/Requirements.html#hardware-requirements and completed the wizard, but I can’t access the site to create the questionnaire.
GlobaLeaks is now updated to 3.9.2.

What should I do to configure the site?

Thanks,
Chiara

Dear @chiara-giorgieri,

from what you wrote i guess you are just trying to access with the wrong url.

The correct login url is: http://localhost:8082/#/admin

The link you just pasted was in fact including a ‘!’ and i guess this could be the problem.

Would you please retry and let us know if this was the issue?

best,

Giovanni Pellerano

Oh, yes. Since the official manual at
http://docs.globaleaks.org/en/latest/user/General.html#login
is empty, I put a ‘!’ as requested in the ANAC user manual I found at

Ok, now I use http://localhost:8082/#/admin and it asks me for the credentials, but I can’t log in: it just says “Error!” on the top left of the browser (firefox or chrome).
I tried to delete everything and reinstall, recreating the accounts with the wizard (just in case I had forgotten the password), but I still get “Error!” even if the password in right (and “Authentication failed” if the password is wrong).
I couldn’t find anything useful in the logs, but perhaps I didn’t find the right ones.

I upgraded to 3.9.5, but still have the problem.
What could I do?

Thank you,
Chiara Giorgieri

You are welcome @chiara-giorgieri

Antually that part of the documentation is under rewriting and will be available soon.

The url is correct, which username are you using while loggin in?
you should be able to access correctly from http://localhost:8082/#/admin with:
username: admin, password: the_one_choosen_during_the_wizard
username: recipient, password: password

Yes, I’m trying to use both those credentials.
And the site does recognize them, since it doesn’t say "Authentication failed”, like when I intentionally insert a wrong password, but just “Error!”

I see, does it work if you access on port 8082?
Would you please share thw files /var/globaleaks/log/globaleaks.log and /var/globaleaks/log/access.log?

No, on ports 8082 and 8083 it’s the same.

The forum only allow me to upload images (renaming logfiles doesn’t fool it!): I cut and past there the lines…

I see, thank you @chiara-giorgieri

Actually we are not able to reproduce the error no in our continous integration testing nor in production. I will make some additional manual test and get back to you if i find something.
